Middle Tennessee has no shortage of places that will mist you. Columbia has walk-in booths. Spring Hill has studios. Franklin and Cool Springs have airbrush rooms and chains. Toasted Tans is none of those. It is a tent in your driveway, mixed to your skin, with one artist named Evie. If you are choosing between a salon stop and a mobile tan, the difference is not a slogan. It is parking, privacy, time, and whether the person holding the gun is looking at you or a queue.
A salon booth is convenient if you already live next to it. You drive, you wait, you step into a closet with a nozzle, you hope the last person was the same skin depth as you. Some booths are automated. Some have an artist. All of them ask you to leave the house. In Spring Hill that can mean Target traffic. In Franklin that can mean hunting a space on the Cool Springs side. In Columbia that can mean a bypass errand when you only had twenty minutes. Mobile skips the errand. The tent comes to Garden Street, Port Royal, Hillsboro, or a gravel pad in Santa Fe.
Privacy is the second split. A tent is a pop-up room. You are not tanning in a hallway and you are not sharing a curtain with whoever booked the slot after you. We use a Norvell XL tent and fresh disposables every client. Hair cap, sticky feet, the unglamorous kit. You stay in a robe until we are ready. Your kids can stay in the house. Your dog can stay in the house. You are not walking through a mall in a button-down you cannot sweat in.
Color is the third split. Custom mix on site is the whole product at Toasted Tans. We are not pouring a one-shade bottle into a machine and hoping. Classic develops 8 to 12 hours. Rapid rinses in 1 to 3 hours. Weekday singles before 6 PM are $65. Rapid is $75. Premium with hydration or contour is $80. That is mobile at your door, not a travel surcharge stacked on a cheap booth. After 6 PM and weekends add $10 except Unlimited Glow at $225 a month.
Groups change the math. A bridal party of five driving separately to a salon is five parking jobs and five chances the mix does not match. One driveway in Thompson’s Station or Fairview, 5+ at $55 a person or $60 on bridal packages with the bride comped, and everyone stands in the same light after. Cheer and dance in Spring Hill book the same way. Three to four people are $60. You are paying for the stop, not for a waiting room.
What a salon still wins: if you want to walk in without a text, a chain booth will take you. If you want UV beds, we do not have them and we will not. Toasted Tans is sunless only. If you want a storefront on Main Street Franklin, that is someone else. We are a service-area studio based in Columbia with no street address on the site on purpose. Maury and Williamson. How to choose in practice. If you are in Brentwood or Nolensville and your calendar is already full, mobile is the less stupid hour. If you are in Leiper’s Fork or College Grove, the drive to a booth is the appointment. If you are in Cool Springs and you work next to the Galleria, you can still get a tent at the apartment instead of a lunch-break booth that has to rush. Text 931-350-0826. Say the city. Prep does not care whether you stood in a salon or a tent. Exfoliate the night before. Skip lotion, deodorant, and makeup the day of. Dark loose clothes after. Moisturize after the rinse. Chlorine and long hot showers fade you. The PDFs on the prep page are the same ones we send before a book. A mobile tan is not magic. It is DHA on prepped skin, mixed to you, in a private tent, in Maury or Williamson County. That is the comparison.
