A spray tan fails in the bathroom the night before more often than it fails in the tent. DHA grabs dry, smooth skin. It slides off lotion, sits patchy on dead skin, and stains whatever cotton you sweat through. Toasted Tans sends the same prep PDF to Columbia, Spring Hill, Franklin, and every other pin on the route. This is that list in plain language so you do not improvise with a loofah at 11 PM.
Night before: exfoliate. Dry brush or a simple scrub on legs, arms, elbows, knees, ankles, and the backs of hands. Those are the spots that go dark first if you skip. Do not sand yourself raw. Do not use an oil scrub you cannot fully wash off. Shave or wax at least eight hours before if you can, the night before is better, so the follicles are not open and grabbing extra color. If you wait until five minutes before we arrive, tell Evie. We can work with it. It is just not the ideal canvas.
Day of: bare skin. No lotion, no deodorant, no makeup, no perfume, no sunscreen. They block DHA. If you already put deodorant on because you forgot, wash it. If your face is your whole personality, we can talk about leaving it lighter. Do not show up moisturized like a magazine. Drink water. Dry skin drinks the mist unevenly. Eat something. This is not a medical procedure, but lightheaded in a tent is a bad time.
Hair: pull it up. We bring a cap. If you have a bang situation, we will work around it. Jewelry off. Glasses can stay until we do the face, then they come off. Wear dark, loose clothes to change into after. A black zip-up and shorts beat a white sports bra you care about. The tent has a floor. Your pale carpet should not be in the story.
What we do when we get there. Evie sets the Norvell tent, plugs in the M1000, and mixes to your skin. You step in. We spray. You step out. Classic needs 8 to 12 hours before a rinse. Rapid is 1 to 3 hours. Do not sweat through a workout in the develop window. Do not shower. Do not swim. If it rains on the way from the garage to the kitchen, dab, do not rub. After the window, a gentle rinse. No scrubbing. Pat dry. Then moisturizer.
Aftercare is the second half of prep. Moisturize daily. Skip long hot showers when you can. Chlorine at a Spring Hill clubhouse or a Franklin hotel pool will eat color. So will a loofah you are emotionally attached to. If you want it to last 7 to 10 days, treat it like color, not like dirt. Hydration boost is +$20 on the appointment if your skin is thirsty going in. Extender kit is +$30 if you want product for later. Neither one replaces the PDF.
Maury and Williamson details that actually matter. If you are in Santa Fe or Hampshire on well water, the rinse can feel different. Still rinse gentle. If you are in Cool Springs and you have a community pool on the patio, wait. If you have Mule Day, Pilgrimage, or a Main Street wedding, book the develop window around the event, not during it. Rapid exists for rude timelines. Classic looks better when you give it the night.
What not to do. Do not DIY a drugstore mousse at midnight because you got nervous. Do not layer self-tan on top of our mix unless Evie told you to. Do not skip the waiver. Do not assume baby oil is aftercare. Call or text 931-350-0826 if you are unsure about shaving, a rash, or a medication that changes skin. We are not a clinic. We will tell you if we should reschedule. Download the prep PDF, the aftercare PDF, and the waiver from the site. Then show up dry, bare, and in dark clothes. That is the whole trick.
